Let's go check out the Iditarod Historic Trail up in Turnagain Pass again. Last time we skied part of the trail and then decided to do some "Lewis and Clark" explorations, making a big loop. This time we will stick to the main trail, going part way up into the Ingram Creek drainage. Depending on the group size and available cars we will try to drop a vehicle at one end and do a one-way trip, parking cars at the Lower Eddie's parking lot and the Tin Can parking lot.
Bring metal edged skis and skins, avalanche gear (beacon, shovel probe), appropriate gear for the weather conditions, and food and water. Expect to be out for most of the day. This trip requires intermediate backcountry ski skills.
If the weather and snow conditions aren't decent, we can head up towards Johnson Pass for a different version of a tour.
Bring skis/skins/poles, clothes for the weather, food/water, Avalanche beacon, probe, shovel. Expect to be out for most of the day.
