Glen Alps to Rusty Point

The weather this weekend is supposed to be sunny and awesome. Let's meet at the Glen Alps trailhead and head to Rusty Point. I am suggesting to ski/snowshoe to the base of the south/southwest ridge and then hike up. It would be nice to be in the sun for a big chunk of the day.
Skis or snowshoes will make the day much more pleasant. We will leave them at the base of the ridge. An ice axe would be useful for the ridge hike.
This hike would be a nice introduction for beginners or mountaineers who want to be out enjoying the spring sun (and snow).
Total elevation gain for the day will not exceed 2000 feet. We should make it there and back in 4-5 hours.

Michael, we will use skis and snowshoes for the approach. Once we get to the ridge, we'll take off skis/snowshoes and climb. Snowshoeing is pretty easy; just bring ski poles with you (poles help a lot). And don't forget to bring your ice axe.

I've done some climbing before, but never with snowshoes, I recently bought a pair of some though, would it be something I could figure out pretty quickly as we go?
