Join us for an evening ski from Flat Top (Glen Alps) Parking Lot to Service High School. This is a fast, fun, but challenging ski. There are some steep narrow sections, flat stretches, and sharp corners in the dark. Must be an intermediate skier and be able to snowplow with the best of them! Total one way distance is about 8+ miles and requires a 4WD carpool. Limited to 6 participants. 4WD participants will have preference if we are short vehicles. Hosted by Travis Taylor

Date: First Wednesday of every month. January 8th, February 5th, March 5th, April 2nd.

Timing
5:45 pm Meet at Service High Parking Lot to carpool
6:00 pm Start Vehicle shuttle – Car Pool with 4WD begins
6:15 pm Start skiing at Glen Alps
8:30 pm Finish at Service High (Alternate is Hilltop)
9:00 pm complete car pool.

Things to bring:
Headlamp
Warm clothes
Water bottle, Snacks
Waxless Skis/Poles – 3 pin Touring skis with metal edges work best. Rondenee skis work too, but it will be a bit slower and you will have trouble on the flats. No skinny skis!

I've been watching the weather forecasts as well and even checked out the conditions on hillside last Sunday, and I too would prefer to ski in better conditions. It looks like it is going to stay on the warmer side bringing in some wet snow but in small amounts for the next 2 weeks. I'm willing to go check it out tomorrow if anyone else is heading up, just know that I value safety and will bail if it's too icy.

Thanks for checking it out and the update . Looks like a chance for scattered snow but wind tonight and tomorrow. I'm game for next week if the ice prevails.

A few of us checked out this ski last night and it is very, VERY icy. The temperature inversion melted snow and then refroze. Metal edges were a must, and it was more survival snow plow skiing... We bailed at Prospect Heights. It wasn't fun and was an easy decision to postpone this event a week if no new snow is received by Wednesday. Stay tuned.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
