Chastain Arts Center Spring Gallery Opening Reception

Come join Katt and others from Wine Xplorer at the Chastain Arts Center Spring Gallery Opening Reception in Chastain Park on Friday, April 12, from 6:00-8:00 PM!

Admission is free and open to everyone. This is a public event, so no reservations are required. More info is available on the websites below, so please read this event description carefully and then check those websites out before asking questions.

A variety of types of art done by people who have taken art classes at the Chastain Arts Center will be on display in the gallery, and for sale--ranging in price from $20 to $2000. Includes free appetizers by Food 101 & Cibo e Breve, and tastes by Wine Xplorer! This is the First Annual Fundraiser and Membership Drive sponsored by the Chastain Park Civic Association. You do not have to join/buy anything to attend. Funds will be raised through art sales and memberships; feel free to purchase any of the art for sale and/or make a donation, if you so desire, to support these two organizations.

Parking is free, and in lots assigned to the Chastain Arts Center. If you love Chastain Park, the largest city park in Atlanta, and all the cool stuff that goes on there, or if you have always wanted to check it out, come join us!

Chastain Arts Center has provided exceptional art classes and exhibits for over 35 years making it Atlanta's oldest community arts center. They offer classes for all ages and for all skill levels in a variety of fine arts and crafts.

Part of City of Atlanta Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, Chastain Arts Center is housed in a building with a rich historical past. Fulton County constructed the buildings now known as Chastain Arts Center and Galloway School between 1901 and 1911. The buildings were originally almshouses (or poorhouses) for the elderly, disabled, and unemployable. Thomas Henry Morgan, known as the 'Dean of Atlanta's architects', designed the two Neo-Classical buildings.

The City Gallery at Chastain exhibits a rotating schedule of art work by local, national, and international artists. Sponsored by the City of Atlanta, Office of Cultural Affairs, this charming Buckhead location is convenient to the idyllic grounds of verdant Chastain Park, one of the area's most pleasant civic greens. Exhibitions change seasonally, and you can check the current roster for new displays.

See photos of the Gallery and other info about location, directions, history, etc., at: (make sure you scroll down on that website to see photos of the gallery, the building, and directions)

The Chastain Park Civic Association has been serving, supporting, and providing leadership for our park community for 35 years. The CPCA is a 501c4 non-profit organization focused on Advocacy, Security, and Public Involvement, representing 3600 households in the surrounding neighborhood area. CPCA works with the various government agencies and the broad range of public and private amenities in Chastain Park, such as the Chastain Arts Center, the public Tennis Courts, Golf Course, and Swimming Pool, the ball fields, and the Chastain Amphitheatre, as well as the private nonprofit therapeutic Chastain Horse Park.
