Wine - The Simple Basics

How many times have you stood in front of a wall of wine at the wine store, glazed over and wishing that something, anything, would show you that magical bottle that will be the perfect bottle for you and will thrill your senses ....

And how many have purchased a bottle based on the packaging, or the little blurb on the back, only to find that it doesn't come close to what you were hoping for?

Join me in the comfy cozy living room at Wine Xplorer to learn basic facts about wine that will help you find the wines you like.

We will go over some of the simple basics about wine that will help you make a decision about the bottle you see on the shelf, while we taste six wines and a selection of cheeses.

Hopefully you will come away from the evening with a stronger sense of how to find what you like.

Our tasting will be accompanied by a selection of delectable artisan cheeses, breads, and crackers.

We encourage pre-payment so that we can have an idea of how many people will be attending!  Get a $5.00 discount for paying in advance!

Please make your reservations and pay $25.00 in advance here or pay $30.00 at the door on the day of the event.

Hi, guys! Don't for get to take advantage of the advance payment discount...or let me know if you will be paying at the door. I like to know how many people will actually show up and I will cancel if we don't have at least 5 people to talk to each other!!!! This is meant to be a fun, social event as well as a learning one!

You would have more people in attendance if prices were more reasonable. Ex: Tower Liquor on Buford Hwy. has wine tasting for $6. Just a word to the wise.

Hi, Hope. For the most part, Wine Xplorer is a wine education venue and so our focus is in wine education, not merely tastings. If you are interested in learning about wine, these classes are a better option than a $6 wine tasting....or a free one at that! As in the old saying "Give a man a fish and he eats for one day, but teach a man how to fish and he has food for a lifetime.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
