Memorial Day Cookout by the pool at "Fontainebleau"

Hi Gang!

I have decided to throw a very small and last-minute Memorial Day cookout by my pool this Monday beginning at 1PM and lasting until early evening.

My grill will be available for you to cook any meet or fish selection you care to bring for yourself.

Each guest is also asked to bring a nice-quality BBQ type side dish to share with everyone, along with a quality bottle or two of wine to share.

I am limiting the guest list to no more than fifteen folks who are willing to go the extra mile to bring great-quality food, and a superb bottle of wine or two to share.

These will also be guests who are happy to help me clean-up at the end of the day (grin).

In turn, you will be wined and dined poolside on what looks to be a great weather day! The water will also be warm enough to swim in so please bring your bathing suits, and the floating lounge chairs are also ready to go.

Finally, please post the food and wine items you will be bringing in the comments section below.

Thank you!

David

Since we're a small group, will bring something in addition to the watermelon as a "dessert."

I will bring some greens from my garden - tomatoes are a month in the future. Will also bring some rather nice dressing - made myself and wow is it good and simple.

I don't have a recipe for my rubs - kind of like pasta putanesca sauce - you make it out of what u have on hand.

    David:

I make my own dry rub with spices I buy in pound quantities and no GMO's here - mostly from New and old Mexico also some from India - all available locally.

BBQ sauces are loaded with HFCS because it is cheaper than cane sugar and IMHO belong on chicken u buy for $6 for 10 #. I will bring some BBQ sauce and just see if anyone dares use it. Also will bring a sauce made from fermented anchovies - the Romans used to transport it around the Med in Amphora - to you gourmet/gormands -what was this stuff called and it was more valuable than either their wine which was pretty awful and olive oil.

Got Matt to RSVP also... we have 4 guests at together will bring an ice cream maker and homemade ice cream, my famous yummy 7 layer dip and chips to go w/ it, a dozen corn on the cob GMO free and butter for the corn and an organic green salad. Will bring some nice wine also.. our additional guests (my dad and his wife) drink a little not much but we'll bring at least 6 bottles of good wine. Been drinking a nice Spanish Rose recently will definitely bring a bottle of that. Unsure what meat we will bring see what we are in the mood for on Sunday.
