Cult Wines of the World

Let's explore the wonderful world of cult wines.
At this event, attendees bring a cult wine priced over $30, (along with a dish to share)
AND either a description of the winery, winemaker and/or tasting notes of the wine.
You will need to do your homework on this!
For those unfamiliar with the term, a "cult" wine is one from a low production, family owned, specialty winery (i.e. specializing in a specific wine style or a blend), classic wine or of legendary origin (i.e. Opus One, 1st Growth Bordeaux, Chateau Montelena...). The wine can be made from any grape including little known grapes. Ports, dessert wines and blends can also fall into this category. Little known or less widely distributed wines are great candidates for this tasting and you may have found one of these wines at your last visit to wine country.
We will open each wine individually and discuss the wine from your notes. Please bring a dish to share and a bottle of wine for each person attending.
Should you need any ideas or assistance in choosing a wine, please let me know. Be creative and let's have fun with this!

I will be bringing a 2009 Cavazza Cicogna San Martino Amarone that the owner of the Wine Shoe in Castleberry Hill specially picked out for me for this evening. I will see what I can get from the website to share with everyone on the wine.
