This is a repeat of the hike we did in early December. Unfortunately clouds obscured the vistas of the Cascades at that time. The impressive views looking down at Smith Rock, Misery Ridge and the vast flatland to the south and east should have spring colors. This hike gains about[masked] ft in elevation from the Crooked River and is about 6 miles round trip. At the crest of the Burma Road we will take the longer more gradual route to the 4230 ft Peak.
I will hike at a moderate steady pace to minimize sweating . We will be exposed to any wind for quite a while and this can be chilling if clothing is wet with perspiration. Please carry good quality wind jacket and avoid wearing cotton apparel which will hold moisture and promote chilling. Carry the ten essentials, sun protection hat, sunscreen, lunch and water.
There is a $5.00 per car parking fee
