Hello all! Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers, Dani & Roland, will be here in Bend, OR. My company is a corporate partner and they are providing a workshop for me and have asked me to invite other guides, leaders, and outdoor enthusiasts in the community.

Leave No Trace – Enjoying the Outdoors Responsibly
Join the Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers for an interactive presentation and discussion that will focus on the elements of the Leave No Trace minimum impact program. This session will highlight the Leave No Trace outdoor skills and ethics program, which is applicable to all outdoor enthusiasts and all environments. This national program is administered by the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics, whose mission is to teach people how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly. In addition to learning the hows and whys behind the importance of practicing Leave No Trace, participants will be provided with information on how to easily and effectively integrate Leave No Trace into their daily lives and programs. The Traveling Trainers are committed to teaching Leave No Trace education as they live on the road, sleep 200 nights a year in a tent, and offer this award winning program in communities from coast to coast.

I learned a lot of newly tested stuff from the Trainers. Great Group and lots of fun.

LNT is evolving from "don't cut the switchbacks" and "dump your dirty dishwater on the fire". Lots of techniques to know to preserve the front and backcountry too.

Do you know "The Authority of the Wilderness"?

All, it was so great to see you this morning!!! I really appreciate your flexibility with the location change and it was lovely to see the level of interest, engagement, and care about the impact we all have on the environment in which we recreate. Dani and Roland were also grateful to have an awesome group to work with. I took a few pictures and will post them later tonight.
Look forward to getting out on the trails with all of you!
    Best,
    Emilie

Sorry bout that! My bf is also allergic to cats and lives with Espresso just fine (big house, no carpets), but some people are really sensitive so I like to give fair warning. :-)

Hey Cat! These are the traveling trainers who are driving all over the country doing these presentations so this is the one shot for Bend. If there is a lot of demand, I can personally put on a second training at another time...probably in the fall when I get through my busy season.

I'm really happy to see this happening. I wish I could attend but there is no way to get time off from work. Is there any chance of scheduling another meeting for someday after 5 PM? Do they have recorded presentations available?

"He who knows naught, knows not that he knows naught". I know that there is a lot to know about LNT techniques - that make hiking and backpacking easier and more fun and rewarding. This is a very large national non-profit with important Sponsors and a lot to teach.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
