Last big one of the year. If the weather is reasonable - let's climb climb South Sister. 11 miles. 5,500 feet of ascent. 10 hour day. You need to be fit. At the moment, the weather forecast for Saturday is partly cloudy with temperatures in the mid 60's. That means mid 40's on the tops and probably below freezing when we start the climb - so dress in layers. Meet at Starbucks on Century BEFORE 6:30 so we leave promptly at 6:30am. We should be hiking by 7am. That means we'll be at the summit by noon and back at the cars before 5pm. Make sure to bring a headlamp in case of delays. If the weather doesn't co-operate we'll find an alternative destination. This is a big climb late in the season and the weather may not be perfect. Be prepared. That means no shorts or sneakers. You need proper footwear. You need bad weather clothing - including waterproof pants, gloves, hats and all the other paraphenalia associated with a serious day on the mountains. Leader is Tom Meet at Starbucks on Century to leave at 6:30am. Saturday 16th October.
