Sorry about that, I guess the first hike was a little too much for a double hike day. I'll schedule the other hike in a few weeks.. Good to meet you!

Great hike! Only 4 stars. Tripped on a dog leash, fell hard and hurt my knee. No more hikes with dogs for me!

Sorry about the knee! Good to see you though..

We just did the gorge hike. We hiked up inside the gorge and came back along the south rim. Great day, awesome group! Thanks!!

Sorry that I wasn't able to make it. I did not see another notice about the hike after I responded early. Meetup did send me a notice that my e-mails were bouncing. Must have been a great hike.

I was really looking forward to doing the hike and meeting everyone but I just got done cleaning up from a big party that I had. I'll never make it up that early, sorry to miss.

I will meet you guys on the side of the road where Powell Butte Hwy meets Hwy 20. I'll be in a blue dodge p/u on the right, honk at me when you go by. I'll follow. See you tomorrow!

I was looking at the road cam near Horse Ridge and there is quit a bit of snow along the road. So, I'm sure there will be snow/ice in the gorge. If you have some kind traction devises, I would bring them. If not, make sure to wear a good traction hiking boot.
It can get cold on that trail, so be prepared.
The Badlands trail should much easier.

Ed and I are both on waitlist. As we are new, does someone call to let us know if we can go? We would like to bring our dog. Can we drive ourselves there?

    December 8, 2013

    • Aaron

I see your on the list now, but I usually tell people if your the first 2-3 people on the waitlist, just show up. We usually have a few No Shows. Dogs are welcome this hike, but please keep them from jumping all over other hikers.

Hey Linda and Ed, I assume you are a couple and that you would be counted as two people, which would put us over the limit of 20 for this hike. I think it would be wise to have separate accounts. Especially if you hike with us in the wilderness areas. Thanks!

OK! Here's the plan. We'll hike out and back in the Dry River Gorge (6 miles) and when we are done, those who want to go, we'll take a short drive to the Badlands Rock TH and hike to the Badlands Rock and back. (5.4 miles) So if you do both it will be about 12 miles total.

How many miles if we don't hike over rocks?

    December 4, 2013

    • Aaron

      I don't know.

      1 · December 4, 2013

The rocky parts of the trail are very short, I don't think anyone would have a issue getting through. If so, you would have lots of help getting over.

    December 4, 2013

  • Aaron

Just a heads up, if we hike all of the Dry River Gorge, there are a couple spots were we have to hike over rocks.

  • Carol k.

About how many miles at the most?

    December 2, 2013

    • Aaron

Top of my head, I'm guessing 6-10 miles. There's not much elevation gain.

      December 4, 2013

  • Marlena

Are dogs allowed on this hike?

    December 2, 2013

    • Aaron

      Sure, bring the pooch!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
