We will meet at 8am in the parking lot in front of Natural Grocers and TJMaxx (The River Bend Promenade 3188 U.S. 97 Business, Bend, OR) and carpool to the trailhead at Jack Lake. We will hike up to the Upper Meadow and possibly to the viewpoint saddle where we will be able to see Sisters, Washington, Jefferson and the cirque lake on Three Fingered Jack. The meadows are right next to Three Fingered Jack. Many of the trees were burnt during the B&B complex fire, but the meadows are still intact and totally worth the hike, not to mention the mountain views too. I'm hoping that we will get to see loads of wildflowers in the meadows. This trail is a 7.5 mile moderate hike. We will stop for lunch at the Upper Meadow (if the mozzies aren't too bad) and then head back to the trailhead via a trail that also takes in the Canyon Creek Falls.
I'm a certified Hatha Yoga Instructor, so once we get back to town we will head over to Sawyer Park and find a flat shady spot for an hour of gentle yoga to stretch achey muscles and joints. Please bring the ten essentials for the hike, bug repellent, plenty of water, and a yoga mat for yoga. I have four extra yoga mats if anyone needs to borrow one. When you join, please just leave a note so I know to bring it.
