Level 3/4: McKenzie River Trail

Length/Distance: 9.5 miles +/-
Elevation climb: 1,150 feet +/-

Level: 3 / 4
Description: This hike is located on the McKenzie Trail off of the McKenzie Highway. This is one of the secrets in the area. We will be hiking along a shared mountain biking / hiking trail within Old Growth Douglas Fir. First on out trip is the Tamolitch/Blue Pool followed by a couple waterfalls. We will be hiking to and around Clear Lake and ending at the lodge.

This will be a shuttle trip, where we will be leaving a vechicle at Clear Lake and retrieving the other vehicles at the trailhead where we started.  We will figure out the vehicle situation that morning so please come prepared to drive, even if you don't.

We will be leaving at 8:00, meeting at the Starbucks in Cascade Village Shopping Center. Please park along in the stalls along the highway or away from the store front.

Prepare for the weather.  We will go unless it is snowing.

If there are any question, please let me know.

The majority of this hike was up hill and next to water. The pace was medium to semi high pace. I really enjoyed this hike and would do it again. I did not care for the lunch break spot at all. We are hiking in an amazing area and have earned a nice place to stop and enjoy it.

Hi Chris, I definitely want to sign up when it becomes available. Do you happen to have details of the exact route we are taking? Start/ finish?
