Grew up in the woods of the McKenzie River, lots of camping, hiking, first aid, and survivalist experience.
12,000 feet is the highest I've been so far and it was fine. Spent 3 days at that elevation and the rest above 5000 feet.
Yes, I try to always be prepared and if I need something I can usually Mcgyver it.
Spring, summer and fall exploring. I admit it, I don't like winter all that much! Central America, anyone?!
Depends on the people I'm with. I'm up for a slow ramble to be able to really enjoy the beauty, or I can usually keep up with just about anyone on a quick scramble. Medium is probably my mode, but I've been know to decide to jog or run a nice stretch of path that is just calling for it.
Longtime Bendite who is looking to meet new friends to enjoy the great outdoors with. Avid hiker/camper/steward. I generally log between 25-30 miles per month, but I am ramping that up in anticipation of some planned backpacking trips.
