Give a small bio of your outdoor experiences

My first hike on the Skyline Trail was before I was ten. Through my teens and twenties I backpacked quite a bit, snowshoed a bit, cross-country skied some. After I took up large format photography in my thirties most of that came to a halt--starting out with forty to sixty pounds of camera gear I ran out of back to support the food and shelter (smile). So it became mostly day hikes.

What is the maximum altitude you can handle?

I don't know. I haven't gone above[masked]

Are you familiar with the 10 essentials and how they change with different events?

Yes, although I think there are 12.

What outdoor events do you prefer?

All things being equal I'd love to be out in the puckerbrush with a fine companion, campfire dying down, glass of scotch, and a handful of almonds counting the stars, meteors and hearing only coyotes, the sound of the breeze and the crackle of a low fire.

Is your activity pace slow, medium or fast?

Yes. (as compared to whom?) Probably most would consider me moderate, although if the light is right I may come to a screeching halt.

Hello, I'm a long time Oregon resident, but now living in Central Oregon instead of the mossy side of the mountains. Look forward to meeting others who love this beautiful environment.
