I am replying to you with the knowledge that my “message will be sent to everyone on this mailing list ([address removed]).  I would prefer that this email forum be focused on specific hiking matters and not health issues of individuals or advertisements of services.  I am not sure that the individuals who sent the emails below are aware that everyone on the hiking meetup group list receive these emails unless they are instead addressed to  specific individuals. I hope this will reduce the unwanted emails in my box.  If you have any further comments to clarify this issue I would appreciate this.  I don’t mean this letter to encourage anyone to send me replies to my individual email address.  However I would suggest that this group forum’s email discourse should be inclusive of all and not any one individual or smaller groups discussions.

P.S. The last posting at the end of this letter I included to suggest as an example of appropriate content for this group.

Hi Folks,

I'm hearing a lot out there with the hiking group about sports injuries and rehabilitation.  Between Shoshanna (a physical therapist) and myself (an acupuncturist focused on sports medicine and athletes) we can patch you right up!

Think preventatively....come see us before "little things" become "big things."  We want to keep people hiking, active & healthy.  For more information (see in my signature line below) check out my website.

Hope to see you soon,

Just as brief note of appreciation for all those attending our first snowshoe trip for 2009. Also, thanks for all those great comments on what to bring to the hike - some great feedback! Looks like the forecast calls for a high of 49 degrees and sunny so we should encounter some great views inspite of a little snow dropping from the trees. We'll try parking at the Dutchman Flat parking lot using the Sunrise Lodge parking across the highway as our backup. Regardless, lets all re-group for the start at the Dutchman Flat restroom area on the West side of the parking lot. Everyone should plan to drive and have snowchains in case you're asked to volunteer to drive. That way we'll make sure we have enough cars to carpool.. Those who are still maintaining a "maybe" status should extend a courtesy to those wanting to fill your spot should you decide not to attend.
Look forward to seeing your all there!!
