Small Group Discussion

Small Group Discussion (SGD) is a way for us to receive specific feedback on our photography and discuss the photography of others. This is a great way to have the conversation that you want to have about your work, and see and learn more about the work of others.

We'll break up into groups of about 4-5 and each member will present one of their photographs to their group. After a few minutes of discussion on that photo, the next person in the group will present their image and we'll continue round-robin style until everyone has had a chance to present. This is a good chance to ask specific questions about your work, and get feedback from other photographers in the group. This is also a good opportunity to bring different treatments (for example, one in color and one in black and white) of a single image and see what others think.

Before the meet-up I'll create an album where you should upload 3 photographs you'd like to discuss. If anyone has a laptop or tablet they can bring to the meet-up, please bring it. The more laptops we have the better.

If you have any questions, please let us know in the comments.

I had a great time! I learned a lot and was amazed at Boris' 3D pics and awed by G's creativity. Also was glad to finally meet some members and look forward to the next time. G and Boris - thanks for your helpful comments and for being so accepting of such an amateur!

For an "amateur" you had some great shots. Your pictures exhibited a fine sense of humor, excellent technical execution, good composition.

Hi G and Deb, I enjoyed the small group discussion and the feedback received.
I would have enjoyed seeing the others' works too. Towards that end, an idea:
    speed dating format.
With six people and and hour of time, each person could have had a ten minute, one on one session with each other person in attendance. Might be fun to try. (And I guess the onus is on me now, to organize it;-)
    THanks!

It was a good night, always fun to see what other people are doing. I also really liked the 3D image. Might have to look into that!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
