Small Group Discussion

This event is open to all CPI Supporters (paid members).

This session will be for the photographers who are more serious about their work, and interested in serious feedback. The group discussion will be pointed and directed, and while not harsh or mean-spirited, the purpose will be to provide constructive criticism geared toward improvement. Beginners and experienced are welcome to attend, anyone looking for serious feedback.

How Small Group works

Small Group Discussion (SGD) is a way for us to receive specific feedback on our photography and discuss the photography of others. This is a great way to have a conversation that you want to have about your work, and see and learn more about the work of others.

This event is for any photographer who has some recent photographs they'd like to discuss. We'll break up into groups of about 4-5 and each member will present one of their photographs to their group. After a few minutes of discussion on that photo, the next person in the group will present their image and we'll continue round-robin style until everyone has had a chance to present. Before the meet-up I'll create an album where you should upload 3 photographs you'd like to discuss. If anyone has a laptop they can bring to the meet-up, please bring it. The more laptops we have the better.

If you are unsure if you can make it to this event, please RSVP No. If you RSVP Yes, be sure to follow through with your reservation and arrive at the designated time and location. Please annotate any changes to your attendance as soon as possible through the event page.

Upcoming Event: Roseberry's Charlottesville. Thursday, January 24, 7-9 pm at Cville Coffee on Harris Street off McIntire Road. Please share this with any of your friends who might be interested in some vintage photographs of Charlottesville from the late 40s through the 1970s. Mr. Roseberry and I will co-narrate the slideshow. Free and open to the public.

Tim: Last one went until 9pm maybe a little later....given the possible weather conditions, I'm hoping (that is if the roads are not already bad by 18:30 and Cville Coffee remains open) that we will be out sooner than 8:30
