I've been in Charlottesville since 1982. I've been doing fine art stereoscopic photography since 1997, exploring and pushing the technical and aesthetic boundaries in this challenging format. Challenging not only to shoot, but especially display!
My primary interest is to explore the possibilities of fine art stereoscopic display - a challenge involving not only the discovery and execution of uniquely suitable creative concepts for stereoscopy, but also the technical issue of successfully bringing the unknown 3d viewing mode to a fine art audience. I have exhibited my stereoscopic images at festivals and/or galleries in Portland, Los Angeles, New York City, Seattle, Phoenix, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Bielefeld, and of course Charlottesville. I am a member of the National Stereoscopic Association, the International Stereoscopic Union, and the Stereoscopic Society of America.
Architectural. Experimental. Nature. Studio. Portraits. Nudes.
For shooting medium format film (slides), I use a twinned Mamiya 6 stereoscopic rig and a Russian "Sputnik" stereo camera. For digital work I use a twinned Canon DSLR, a Fuji W3, and a twinned Sony HDV rig.
I'd like to learn as much as possible about architectural photography. I'd like to update my website, too; that will be a big piece of work (It's a good thirteen years old, and looks it.)
