I learned photography when film was all there was, well before the advent of digital photography. Events conspired to lead me away from photography for a few years, and when I picked it back up, a lot had changed. My photography skills are still in advance of my digital darkroom skills, but I have been making progress on that front. Although I do some professional work, my photography doesn't pay the bills, nor do I want it to. I enjoy having the freedom to work on personal projects without having to worry about trying to find the next customer.
I am most focused on portraiture and documentary photography, but I also enjoy street photography and, when I'm fortunate enough to travel, I like travel photography, too.
I use a Nikon DSLR. I may try my hand at a large format film camera some day, but for now I'm strictly digital.
The opportunity to meet other photographers, share information and images, socialize, and participate in some advanced-level workshops.
If I say that I'll be there, I'll be there.
I would like to be a part of a network of photographers who share skills, opportunities, and experiences.
