Come get your CHIESTA invitations at this Meetup!

At this Meetup, our Sponsors AY CHIHUAHUA RESCUE, will be handing out their exclusive (and limited) invitations to CHIESTA 2013!!  This free event is held annually, by invitation only, for their adopters, volunteers, donors and yep... The Chi Amigos!

CHIESTA 2013! is April 6th from 4-7pm at The Zoom Room.   By popular request, they are bringing back Photo Booth fun from BOOTH 66 (with tons of hilarious props!), yummy food and drinks, and even their amazing swag bags which hold something fun for everyone!  AY CHIHUAHUA RESCUE really knows how to throw a party!  Door prizes will be announced every hour, and although you must be present to win, it is worth the wait as the evening culminates with their EXTREMELY popular Costume Contest!  The TOP 3 costumes receive amazing prizes!  No entrants will walk away with empty paws though, and everyone is sure to have a super great time!

Be sure to RSVP in time as occupancy is limited and they want to accommodate as many as possible!

See you in the Park, and we hope that you find many ways today, and every day, to...

    Hola Amigos!

It was super great to see all of you who braved the brisk breeze for some fun in the Park! Our dogs were sure full of energy, and we just loved watching them race around having such an obvious blast! For those of you that missed the Meetup, watch your emails for your invitation to CHIESTA! 2013. Space is limited, so please be sure to RSVP as soon as possible. :)

Thanks so much to Carol & Jeff of Ay Chihuahua Rescue for the warm and welcome addition of coffee to our morning, as well as the cookies & dog treats!

We can't wait to see you (if not at CHIESTA!) at the next Meetup on April 27th!

Hope you enjoy the rest of your week!

I am new to the group, I was wondering if there is anything that I need to bring (other than food, water and toys) or if I have to get Lando (my dog) a special permit for the dog park. I am from MI and there you have to get a permit to enter any dog parks. I would just need to know where to go and get him one in or near Austin. Thank you and I hope to meet you all soon.

Hola allison! Welcome to Texas! The City of Cedar Park requires only that your dog have current rabies and regular vaccinations. I have never seen them come in to check those things to date, but The Chi Amigos does request that all participants comply with their regulations. The park does have water stations for the dogs, and our sponsors, Ay Chihuahua Rescue, now brings Starbucks Coffee and cookies for their human Amigos and dog cookies for the tiny Amigos too! Having said that, you are very welcome to bring your own treats and toys. Just remember that it is a very large dog park with many Amigos around. Offering treats and toys can overstimulate the dogs in this kind of "pack" atmosphere and caution should be exercised when introducing them. :)

No worries! Sounds like you will have your hands full, and we will do our absolute best to help you should you need it. :) Just as a reminder, the park is ginormous. Off leash runs can be scary if your dogs will not come to you when called. You may want to make sure those 2 pups will not have you chasing them down. :) It can be very frustrating to spend time chasing down pups that are having too much fun running around to come back to us. ACR has to evaluate all of their foster dogs that come to our meetups for the same skill set. It has been more than once where a foster has decided they would rather run than come back to a person/foster family their just met and barely know. Those pups come to the Meetup, but the foster families just keep them on lead. It is OK to come with pups that must remain on lead rather than run free. There are always some that come who must remain on lead. No worries at all!!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
