We made it, walked the trails and went to the event. I don't know if we ever crossed paths but thanks for bringing this to our attention. We had fun and never knew that place was there.

Rex, thank you for coordinating this fun outing! It was great to meet you and everyone and their dogs. Maggie and I had a good time and we hope to participate in another event soon.

Awesome day! It's started out a little cold and then we ended up basking in the sun a little after noon. The brisket tacos their vendor had were really good too. ****On a side note: We saw a 300+ lb razorback so if you ever walk this trail.....BE CAREFUL!****

Wonderful walk, we had a great time. All the dogs and people were nice and friendly, thank you Rex for organizing the gathering. We even got some very helpful tips from a trainer walking with us, what a great way to start a beautiful day. Thanks to all joined the fun. We always enjoy the walks Rex puts together.

It was too cold for Minnie this morning as well! Also, I got an email about a bad experience because a dog had a mohawk? That's hilarious. Kind of glad I didn't bring my rhodesean ridgeback who gets a mohawk every time she gets a treat....

We will be there! This is nothing regarding the weather compared to D.C. where we lived! Bringing the kiddo along too for some great exercise and great hiking!

    See you there

It's only going to be 32 degrees at 9 when we meet up. I'm going to have to bow out this time. That's just too cold for Gracie.

Me and Snickers will be there! Wanted to bring some marketing stuff from my vet office if that's ok?

You can bring them if you slip me an Arby's coupon. LOL That's good as cash at my house.

Hi how long of a hike. This is my first time and I have a knee that is acting up lol

    February 5, 2014

    • Rex B.

Hi Jean, if you feel like the walk is going to be too long for you it would be easy to turn back on the path and meet us at the Audubon Center after the walk.

I'm also signed up with the DFW Pit Crew to attend as long as it doesn't get cancelled due to the weather.

Ziggy was diagnosed with cushings and can only walk short distances, BUT Ziggy has his own wheels that we use to get him out and about. Your description stated paved so I am hoping the trails are user friendly for strollers. If not, let me know, because he knows how to backpack. Where there is a will there is a way. ;-)

Yay for dog strollers! I use mine all the time for long days so Yodi can nap/rest. Good thinking!

      February 5, 2014

  • Rex B.

The trail is nicely paved so strollers would be no problem. Ziggy will have a blast bless his little heart. Just make sure he has his matching warmup suit and Hair Jordan's. LOL!!

Yodi has two strollers! One for solo and one that holds up to three additional frenchies. I got it when I was taking my brother's frenchie along last summer. Strollers are ideal for all-day events.

Updated weather report puts the high at 57 degrees and zero chance of rain. It will be the best day of the week for a walk- http://www.weather.com/weather/5-day/Garland+TX+75043:4:US

Yodi has sweaters and such, so that should fine, especially if the winds are down.

I take pretty good pics with my phone. I paparazzi my dog all the time. :D

Who are the photographers in the group? There should be some good photo ops on this outing.

If the weather is bad (as in extreme cold or snow), what's everyone's plan??

    February 3, 2014

    • Rex B.

The current forecast calls for a high of 52 and 20% chance of rain. It will be a bit cold when we start so dress warm. Let's check again later in the week to see if it changes.
