Join us for a day in St Albans
Arriving in St Albans for 0940 we shall head straight to The Waffle House for brunch. Its particularly yummy in there and incredibly popular.
Following brunch we shall head into the City Centre for a guided tour. It shall be a historical city tour and the cost of this is £6 per person.
There will then be some free time to browse the shops, and market, and get some christmas shopping
The Carol Concert is at 3pm in St Albans Cathedral. This is £5 per person
St Albans Bach Choir gave its inaugural concert in March 1924 with a performance of Bach's St Matthew Passion. We present a wide variety of music in our concert programmes, whilst continuing to perform the major works in the choral repertoire. Every Christmas we give two concerts in aid of charity.
St Albans Cathedral - This is the oldest site of continuous Christian worship in Britain. It stands over the place where Alban, the first martyr, was buried after giving his life for his faith over 1700 years ago - more than 200 years before St Augustine arrived in Canterbury.
The building's amazing mixture of architectural styles bears witness to the many centuries of its life, first as a monastic Abbey and now as a Cathedral. Down all those centuries countless pilgrims have come to honour the saint's sacrifice and offer their prayers at his shrine - and they still come in their thousands today.
The group shall meet at St Pancras at 0900 and catch the 0918 train to St Albans. I shall meet the group at St Albans Station.
Tickets are £11.10 return when purchased at a group saver rate - so its much cheaper for you all if you travel with the group.
If you'd like to make your own way to St Albans in the car, or via another train line thats fine, but please just let me know when you sign up, so the group are not waiting for you at St Pancras on the day
