Gather and Discuss Summer Bootcamp!

I wanted to see if folks in the group are interested in a group exercise "bootcamp". I've been running my version of a bootcamp for over 2 years now, and want to offer something similar for the group. It's FREE and always FREE.


Because diabetics are automatically high-risk per the ACSM Risk Factors, I will need doctor's clearance from each participant before starting the bootcamp, hence I think an initial meeting to discuss what works best for everyone would be great. Of course, I will tailor and customize the workouts to best fit the needs of the group.


I'm a Certified Personal Trainer and my mother has had Diabetes for many years, and continues to work with it. Through diet and exercise, we've found a way to help her cope better, reduce her dependence on medication, and have a more healthy lifestyle, with exercise as a major part.


We'll meet at my place on an evening in June, hope that works for everyone. If folks have time, we can watch the documentary, "Raw for 30 Days", which chronicles Dr. Gabriel Cousens experience with 6 diabetics radically changing their diets and making amazing progress.

    Hi all!

    Tony and I met and he's got a great gameplan for a fitness bootcamp for our group!

    Step 1 - Intro class, to get to know Tony and the options he can offer EVERY FITNESS LEVEL! You don't exercise - no problem. Are you competitive and sport and fitness - he'll be able to challenge you too. So don't let any anxiety keep you from showing up on Tuesday July 17.

    Step 2 - Tony runs a monthly bootcamp. Based on participation, we'll either add ourselves onto his Saturday morning group, or get started just after his first group finishes. Again, this is for ALL FITNESS LEVELS

    Step 3 - As a certified health coach, I'm glad to provide nutrition guides for working out, weight loss, etc. This is a free offering for our fitness bootcamp participants only!

    Step 4 - as I mentioned earlier, this group is changing name, and function. If you are now or once were interested in becoming an organizer of activity on this group, PING ME!

    Thank you Cheryl for showing up. :) It was great meeting you, wish more of you could've made it.

    To summarize:

    1.) I will hold an "introductory" bootcamp on TU, 7/17, 7pm. It will be near my home in South San Jose. I will have the workout program available for reference.

    2.) I will require all participants diagnosed with Diabetes to either obtain doctor's clearance or sign a waiver.

    Let's have a good turnout, and try to make this a regular event. :)
