No introduction yet
Since around 1995. Started playing MTG at the end of Revised Edition. Played from 1995-1999 and from 2001-2002 Then MTGO from 2003-2005 and MTGO from 2008-2010. Now I'm back with paper format. Want to learn D & D and Pathfinder, and Yu Gi Oh.
hi, what kind of games do you usually play? I'm more in the old fashing style such as monopoly, scrabble, pictionary...
Hi. Yes my son plays TONS of WOW (LOL and so do I) So yes we will check out the WOW TCG game on Thursdays. Coming to the Gaming Goat this Sunday to check out the store too.
I c the webpage is up and running. I sent few players there, so they can get directions to the Sat/Sun events. A couple players mentioned to me that date/event listing page is confusing in its current format.
Please take a look how the mtgmom lists mtg events
She does MtG calendar with drop down descriptions. Most players consider this best way to find an events so they can plan couple weeks out; Tourny and PTQ grinders like to have visual maping of dates.
Michael Purn posted a greeting for Jeff Bergren
"I made a new Commander/EDH Comment regarding where to play in Chicagoland, at MTGcommander Forums, that now includes the Goat's upcoming Sunday Commander League. I will update your section as you release more information as to the specifics.
Jeff, it was nice to meet you last night. Magic talk for 3 hour...I think I lost my voice at one point. =P
Everyone else, I got a seek-peek at the Gaming Goat's lair last night. OMG, it is super nice location, I have to say I am look forward to slinging the magical cardboard there. These guys have put a lot effort into The Game Goat, which is clearly evident as soon as you walk in the front door.
i'll will stop by as long as i can get rid of this cold that i have
I have been drafting 2 or 3 times a week for a while now, I will try to make it to the opening day draft, For Euro games Dominion is one of my favorites right now but I am up for trying anything.
MTGSalavation has nice list of decks under Variant Formats > EDH Discussion http://forums.mtgsalvation.com
I suggest picking a deck theme of what you like to play the most: i.e. counters, milling, LD, Discard, tokens, combo, and/or certain color, then base the deck around whay you find the most fun to do in a game. Unlike other formats, a true EDH is never finished its always changing and evolving.
If you use the EDH/Commander point system so you can supply prizes depending on points achieved during a match (3 or more players). It tends to be more about doing amazing things in the game with a deck than just winning. A store can use different achievements to regulate the game play so that everyone gets some way to to "win"not just those with the most money. Random foils, promos, etc, are generally nice ways to award those trying to make the game interesting not just look I won again.
