Expat support group

Remember those times, when you’ve come to the HUB for a Dutch class, and then, instead of concentrating on Dutch, you often end up continuing to speak English to talk about daily life and frustrations, just because it feels so good to simply talk with another person? If you are wanting more time like this, just to talk about life as an expat, this group is for you!

We’ll be offering a chance to talk about this adventure; sometimes exciting and sometimes overwhelming, experience of living in a new country. The gathering will be in English, however, we’ll split up into small groups where you can “dive in” as deep as you feel comfortable. Depending on who attends, there may be the opportunity to connect with others from a similar culture/language. Expats of all backgrounds are welcome to join.

This will be a peer led group, by expats who are part of the HUB. We bring many years of sitting with people individually and in groups, having worked in the counseling field in a variety of settings.

Come join us on March 20 at 2PM, for time to sit together and talk about what you find challenging, and what makes you excited that you are here!

We'll be in the back room.

Hiya Cris, that's great! I shall most likely pop along to that one then. : )

Hi, I'm wondering whether to brave coming along with my 2yr old : / LOL. Maybe we won't last the duration but, owing to the time on a week day, I think expat spouses with young kids might find this beneficial, though a bit tricky to attend. Perhaps do another session on an evening for those with kids?
