Welcome to Karolina Kreathors! This group is for Filmmakethors, Kreathors, Artisthors, Musicianthors and Innovathors, etc in the Triangle region of North Carolina, but not limited by geographical constraints. If you happen to be in the area for a weekend and want to be part of a creative project, we will do our best to accommodate your talent.

KAROLINA "INDYFUNDENT" KREATHORS & "PRODUCKSHUNS" primarily focuses on creativity and community while promoting creativity within the community. This is a group for genuinely passionate, compassionate and dream-driven individuals and for team-players willing to learn and create in harmony with a sportsman-like conduct at all times.

Films will be focused on genres like Cross-Cultural Films, Sports, Romance, Drama, Comedy, Action and Animation, and several other combinations. Members should make every effort to create progressive story-lines that will benefit the community and help promote community programs. Horror/R-rated movies will not be encouraged, filmed or produced by this group.

As a group we will be producing independent films with cooperation and coordination from fellow enthusiasts, beginners, amateurs, wannabes, dreamers and professionals (on the set training may be provided for beginners and wannabes depending on time and resources availability). Our goal is to produce short films, feature-length indie films and documentaries. Once every month or every two months, we will be conducting 24hr/48hr weekend film-making marathons & contests. Every year some of the best films will be submitted to film festivals (the films will be selected and short-listed by a independent third-party judging panel). All ideas will be heard and voted accordingly. Depending on the crew and time availability, we will determine the yearly production schedule and the number/type of films that will be produced every year.

We are inviting all filmmakers - directors, writers, actors, producers, cinematographers, cameramen/women, special effects supervisors, photographers, make-up artists, storyboard artists, stuntmen/women, editors, gaffers, lighting team, boom operators/sound-mixers, marketing, equipment managers, social networking specialists, web designers, app developers, promoters, singers/songwriters, musicians, script supervisors, drivers, caterers, investors, entertainment attorneys, accountants, copyright specialists, location managers, etc. Assistants in each category will be needed as well and will be announced prior to each meetup event. Several teams will be formed depending on enrollment and to be able to churn films round the year.

This group will mostly rely on community goodwill. Members are not allowed to collect any funds from guests or any third-party individuals or businesses for covering production costs. This is a 100% volunteer-based organization. Out-of-pocket expenses will not be reimbursed and all members are fully responsible for protecting their own gear and equipment and obtaining insurance where applicable.

Written parental consent is a must for any children involved while filming. All joining members must be at least 18 years and older and are expected to maintain the highest ethical and professional standards. Any lapse in good conduct will only result in cancellation of membership. Teamplayer attitude is a must and emerging-leadership will be rewarded and much appreciated, especially, in critical situations. Permits and consents must be obtained regardless of the circumstances for actors, locations, staff and all other applicable situations, groups and individuals. Footage will not be accepted without written and documented permissions.
