Ecofeminism & Social Justice Community Reading Group

10/22/13 @7:00 pm at Mother's Market in Santa Ana:

Ecofeminism & Social Justice Community Reading Group

Are you interested in feminism, social justice, animal rights/veganism, and environmentalism? Our ecofeminism group gathers to read books and discuss these subjects! Ecofeminism celebrates women and nature while examining the intersections of oppression between women, non-human animals, and the environment. This is a safe and supportive space. We will discover, grow, and learn from each other. People of all backgrounds, genders, and ages are welcome.

This series is organized by Stacy Russo, librarian at Santa Ana College.

Today's Reading:  We will continue our discussion of Riane Eisler’s The Chalice and the Blade: Our History, Our Future. We will focus on chapters 8-13. This book is readily available used, new, and at libraries. (http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/chalice-and-the-blade-riane-eisler/1111730460?ean=9780062502896) PLEASE NOTE: We will meet at the tables and common area outside of Mother's Market; we are not meeting inside the store.

Bring: your book (feel free to join without too).

Cost: Free.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
