I am so excited to announce that we have been invited to participate in a Collaborative Event at The New Museum for Contemporary Art in New York City!
SAVE THE DATE: SUNDAY, MARCH 16th, 11:00
The Draftsmans Congress
Starting at 11:00 and continues throughout the day
I was contacted as founder of The Venus Transits, by the curator of The New Museum, and invited to take part to come and contribute to the upcoming project.
The artist Pawel Althamer, will realize a collaborative project entitled, the "Draftman's Congress." The project involves taking part in the making of one large collaborative drawing that will take up the entire fourth floor space of the museum.
This event is free to anyone who has come to 'A Red Thread Circle' or has taken a private or group class from Leslie at The Venus Transits. I would also like to extend this invitation to any of my classmates from The Color of Woman School, who have participated in Intentional Creativity Methods.
If you have want to participate, just make sure that you come to 'A Red Thread Circle' or class before the date of the event.
I am enclosing some links so that you can see how this event was inspired by Pawel. He has participated in The Berlin Biennale, and other European forums. There are also some youtube and vimeo videos to inspire.
His concepts range from how community and politics transcend in the forum of art making... as well as spiritual concepts of the body and question of the soul in making art in collaboration as social engagement.
Seems like a perfect opportunity for us to be part of an international forum, while utilizing intentional creativity as a group. Let our work and images speak to the masses!
If you are interested, please RSVP to me, as I would like to form a meeting to plan our day and share ideas on how we would like to participate as a group.
With Great Love and Excitement,
The Venus Transits
