"Hyde Park has always been known for its independent stores, coffee shops and bookish residents"
"A movie theater opened on 53rd Street earlier this year, following a Five Guys, an Akira and a Clarke's—the only 24-hour diner for miles. By the end of 2013, developers say, 53rd Street will have a Hyatt Place Hotel, a concert venue and a new University of Chicago office building as well."

I can't wait to network with everyone on the 10th over Barbecue! This is going to be a fun, unique event :)
The Park where we will be holding this Barbecue is named after Chicago's first African American Mayor: Harold Washington. It's located right along Lake Shore Drive (exit 53rd Street) in the beautiful neighborhood of Hyde Park. It's easily accessible by car or Metra.
Harold Washington Park is known around the world for some unusual residents: Monk Parakeets! The Parakeets have been in this park for 40 years.
