Arlo, rescued in November 2009 at 1 yr old from Westside German Shepherd Rescue of Los Angeles. Arlo is super sweet, playful, energetic, and knows when to back down - so he generally gets along great with any dog! Jasko, a DDR Shepherd also adopted from WGSR in April 2011 at a year old. Severe abuse & neglect case. Now? total dreamboat.
I presently reside in Hollywood, CA, where I run the CA Working Dog Foundation with Lucie Swan. We love dog parks off-hours, hiking, beaches, camping, leisurely walks, you name it - we're up for it!
Let German Shepherds be German Shepherds and play with wild reckless abandon! Barking and running amok is welcome and encouraged!
Arlo, though recently mastering how to open and close the refrigerator, is eternally challenged when it comes to "recall".
Great way to socialize with other GSDs and their parents!
Hi Kari Jo, I haven't been to a meet up with you guys in a long time. My GSD Annette died in 11/2013 of Degenerative Myleopathy. I'm very sad without her. I will be getting another GSD when I am ready. Take care. Julie Land
I'm not new to GS's and have worked with a number of rescues. Where there any issues with the GS you adopted or basically they were what you expected?
I going to WSGSR on Saturday hopefully to find a GS. How long was the process there?
Kari we are running late for Pt. Isabel... call cell 6905929 sue
Thank you for the welcome. Our main reason for joining was in the hopes of there being the meet ups for "special dogs" like our anxious Ruby. I didn't see any posted on the calendar going forward ( or in the past). Do they still happen?
Thanks Kari Jo! I'd love to hear your ideas on confidence building. He recently had the chance to go through some agility tunnels, and I've noticed that when we play fetch at the beach and he finds the stick in the ocean, he seems more confident. Or maybe my wishful thinking. :)
This is my first dog and he's very sweet with family, but skittish of strangers - barking etc. I want to make sure that I'm being a good leader for him, so any advice is appreciated!
I will help in anyway I can. I must say though I have never been much of an organizer. We are usually at PI daily, (weather permitting) but would need some direction as to what needs to be done. Look forward to seeing all who come on Saturday morning, Hi from Ann, Jim and of course Terra
Thank you! Look forward to meeting you.
