It’s Rye Hon; Baltimore’s Original Whiskey
Long before there was a Bourbon County in Kentucky, people in the new world were making and drinking great whiskey.  The settlers along the Chesapeake were making whiskey from the rye grain they grew. In contrast to the harsh living conditions they faced, their whiskey was floral, spicy and fruity. Baltimore soon developed an epic thirst for the best rye whiskey made in Maryland.  The supply was supplemented by a slightly different style from the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania.
Whiskey America and TATU team up again for another outstanding whiskey tasting.  Six rye whiskeys, including some local craft ryes, will be showcased.  A light meal will be served to complement the whiskey as the boys from Whiskey America guide us though the history of rye: Baltimore’s first whiskey.
What: It’s Rye Hon; Baltimore’s Original Whiskey – an all rye whiskey tasting
When: Friday evening, January 24, 2014, beginning at 7:00 P.M.
Where: TATU in Power Plant Live, Baltimore City, Maryland
Why: To taste six great rye whiskeys and learn about the history, process, and future of rye whiskey. Share the experience of drinking great whiskey with friends and discover why those good ol’ boys said bye bye to Miss American Pie and drove their Chevys to the levy to drink whiskey and rye!

This is a Baltimore Scotch Sippers exclusive release-
The whiskeys that we will be exploring tomorrow night are:
    o Catoctin Creek’s Mosby’s Spirit, a local made, un-aged, craft made, 100% rye
o Catoctin Creek’s Roundstone Rye, this is Mosby’s Spirit plus a year and a half in the barrel to demonstrate the affects of the oak.
o Pikesville Supreme Straight Rye Whiskey, Maryland style rye, an absolute must for a rye tasting in Baltimore!
o Dad’s Hat Rye, a Monongahela (Pennsylvania) style Rye, with this we will demonstrate the difference between the Maryland and the Monongahela ryes.
o Masterson’s 10 Year Straight Rye, a 100% craft made rye that is aged by Sabastiani Wine in Sonoma CA, an awesome deluxe rye whiskey!
o George Dickle Rye, the only rye that receives the Lincoln County Process, we will taste this neat and in a Manhattan.
o There will be Tatu food and after the show there will be an aerialist show! Don't miss it!

So I just realized we need tickets for this event (oops). Mission Tix says they are "off sale" (whatever that means). Does anyone know if the tickets can still be purchased, like tomorrow at the venue or something?
