  • For those interested in being a part of Guild formation, ongoing facilitation, etc.: please RSVP here! We will be setting up at the very least a regular conference call or online meeting, and we can potentially coincide some of the planning process with the upcoming Convergence in May of 2014. I woke up this morning 'pondering' the design of this guild...and I have some ideas, based around some of the conversations we've been having, along with some of the experience I've had with existing association structures.

I think that the Guild needs a self-selected 'Board' of eight--three 'retired' from the field of permaculture, three actively engaged in business on a daily basis (designing, implementing designs, teaching, etc.), and two who are not certified (yet certifiable haha). One of those two should be completely 'outside', in other words, have a consumer standpoint.

    What do ya'll think?

3, 5, 7 is workable, as for my percussion jams. 13, never. Cat-Sailor here :-) Let's get them, and then worry how many to keep? Its not the meat, its their motion.

11 is also nice, and would allow for more active 'voices', both PDCed and non...and of course, I do like 13--it's my lucky number! ;^)

you know what worries me about Meet-up? Sooooo many "want to know how it goes?", or asks to be "kept informed". Like, how does a garden grow without its stewards tending it actively? Come on, folks, or you will remain in a dormant state perpetually! Not...me, for nothing in Nature EVER is. Why do otherwise "smart" people think so, or rely on the few active ones to do the groundwork?? Perennial problem in ALL Group Dynamics, but...Permi's should know better. Do, or don't, no "if, maybes", please. I'm the former! :-) Thank you, Loretta, for this forum-for-DOers!! What/who's up? :-)

Hi Antoniio!, welome to The Permaculture Guild Meetup. I so much appreciate your comments, I find them insightful and on the mark. I actually just got off the phone with Loretta and we were discussing the value and experience you bring to the table. Thank you so much for your willingness to be a part of what we are creating. I think that you'll find that we have a very diverse membership, many of which have yet to complete a PDC, which as I'm sure you know, explains a lot. Patience and understanding at this juncture is certainly helpful. Regarding upcoming Meetups, the next one being planned will be in conjunction with Loretta's return from IPC11 sometime in December. She will need some time to get a power point together after her return, and I expect her presentation to be spectacular. With gratitude for your involvement, Ken

No way to reply to a reply here, so I'll reply to myself :) @ Ken - Thanks for pointing out the forum feature. The second post there does describe the vision - sorry I missed it. @ Loretta - I did.

here's another idea--something we can work on immediately: we can create pages here for projects members are already working on...

There's plenty to talk about, yes?!! I'm in!!! Let's pool $$$, buy a building cooperatively, and house all sorts of cooperative endeavors there? Workshops, studios, offices, food-prep,.... Talk is fine, but...there's real work to do, cooperatively. Hope you don't mind I'm wildly-waving my arms about now, in my North Italiano-manner :-)

45-years ago, the huge Leon County Food Coop was thriving, thanks to the aware-community's Coop Credit Union. Which led to the many 1000s-acres Miccousokee(?) Land Coop just outside Tally. Here's something I'd started her in Fort Myers, which I'm now preparing to sell my ECOhomestead, and finding a new, more-cooperative urban community to join. Psst...I owned a cool downtown St. Pete. apartment house, on 5th Avenue North, in the early '70s, that I would LOVE to be amongst again. I can keep my catamaran elsewhere, but that City has ALWAYS seemed...supurb, and cooperatively-minded. Let's....SPARK IT ALIGHT, TOGETHER. Let's...talk?!! :-)
