IF you think it would benefit the  permaculture Guild I I can add a guild to the Port Charlotte area.

Laurie,

Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful email. I appreciate your offer to help more than I can express in words. I have joined your meetup in Port  Charlotte and look forward to helping you make it grow and flourish. I encourage all members of this Meetup to go and join yours as well. In fact, join any permaculture Meetup group that will let you. I've never had a problem and I belong to dozens.

Now as you may have noticed things are really starting to hum here. My request is that you be willing to "play" in all three "mini guilds" which comprise the triad of the basic business model, previously defined in detail. If you are willing to do that, I will gift you the PDC Certification, under certain conditions, which we mutually agree upon.

These are the "hot" action items, by category.

1.0 Administration
1.1 Legal
1.2.Financial
1.3 Organizational Structure
1.4 Staffing
1.5  Transparency and our terms of agreement

2.0  Communication
2.1  Meetup Groups-I think you may have seen the first phase list of Meetup Groups, which from my perspective should have happened yesterday.
2.2  Facebook Groups-I have a list of Facebook Groups to be created a mile long if anyone's interested in helping out with that.
2.3  You Tube Channel-a no-brainer in this day and age.
2.4 Twitter Connectivity-beats the heck out of me. Maybe somebody can teach me about Twitter. Anyway, we obviously need it.
2.5  Linked In Connectivity-create groups and drive traffic both ways with hot buttons and whatever else works
2.6 Websites "ThePermacultureGuild.com" and ThePermacultureGuild, org up and running smoothly. Currently on Wordpress and Permahost as provider.

3.0 Products & Production
3.1 The Education Team-Set up and staff-staff training
3.2 The Communication and Information Network-Design the network-Set up and staff-staff training
3.3 The Communication and Information Network-Implementation Team-Setup and staff-staff training
3.4 The GIS Permaculture Design Working Group-Set up and staff-staff training
3.5.The Permaculture Guild Global Strategic Design Plan Implementation Team-Set up and staff.

Now I realize that this might seem like a lot to get your head around, but really, don't be concerned about that right now. What I would like you to do is just scan this list and make a mental note of what area or areas you are drawn towards and have experience in. This is crucial towards protecting yourself from getting into a position within this organization that is not in alignment with what you really love to do.

One last thing Laurie, when you started you Homesteading Meetup, you actually got three Meetups for that price. Have you used the other two Meetup groups yet?

Hi Ken-

I have been running my own meetup page for the Port Charlotte/North Port area as we do not have anything related going on in our area. Those interested have to go to Sarasota or Fort Myers for learning/events etc... trying to create community where we are. My page is labeled Homesteading lifestyle with a commitment  to self sufficiency. I am up to 54 members and pay all the dues and give workshops on learned skills. I just put on an Event called the Mindful Regenerist  in which I had several great speakers. Brad Ward did large scale composting, plant propagation, vermicomposting, growing mushrooms, building a food forest, growing bananas in SW Florida and perennial food crops. I know little about permaculture but I am going to take Dan Hemiway's class coming up and know my activities are tied in with the permaculture theme. I also promote workshops from sewing to kombucha, canning to pig and chicken butchering. Many times I have tried to promote my workshops with other meetup pages I am a member of and wanted them to share but for some reason even though I am a member and thought we are to suggest meetups they will not make them an official event on their page which is frustrating to me as I thought -we where working toward the same goal in different areas. Maybe it is viewed as a competition. For instance slow foods has over 500 members but when asked to promote a workshop on growing your own food they would not and did not even respond to emails!!

I see you have added me as an organizer for your meetup and love your enthusiasm and organizational skills. please let me know how I can help because I want to help provide these valuable resources to people trying to live and go back to a regenerative lifestyle.

Hello Fellow Guilders,

This is to remind all organizers that they are welcome and encouraged to post events on this calendarto promote events related to permaculture. Since The Permaculture Guild supports and promotes all permaculture related events, courses, workshops, drum circles, pow wows, musical events, retreats, timebank, or anything else permaculture related you wish, anywhere on the globe, don't worry about how much the calendar can take. If it gets too busy to follow, we have solutions for that.

The point is to use this tool for the purpose it was intended. Your presense here tells my that you obviously care and are interested in permaculture. Have fun and let's have a biodiverse menu of events for our membership to choose from and we can see what the law of attraction brings up. And by all means, don't be shy.

If there is anyone who wants to post events and is not an organizer, please let me know so that I can make you one.

If anyone needs help navigating the Meetup tools, please let me know and we'll get you some help. Also, Meetup has great technical support so use it if you wish.

Thanks,

Ken
