I am a complete novice! I have never worked a sewing machine, and I can just about attach a missing button back on my shirts. I've been knitting for about 6 years, and would love to move into other garment-making.
Beginning. I have never touched a sewing machine, but I can use a basic needle and thread to fix a hem or add a button.
I'm mostly interested in women's clothing, particularly skirts and dresses.
I've done something similar with other knitters. I don't have any fabric, but it would be a good way to see what others are using.
That sounds interesting! I've travelled for other conferences, so why not for sewing?

The group is friendly and welcoming, and before the end of the meetup, I was comfortable both with my sewing machine and with all the new people I met.
Thanks for RSVPing for the discussion of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. There are still plenty of copies at the Georgetown Library. If you need me to put a copy on hold for you and send it to your nearest DC Public Library, please email me with you library card number.
See you there!
