Vegan Book Group

Greetings, worthy thanes:

Stacey has graciously handed the literary baton to me, and I solicit your suggestions for the next Vegan book group.  I would like to set a meeting schedule and pick the next two to three books.  I read at a glacial pace (well, a glacier unaffected by climate change, that is), and I confess that I found myself a bit rushed with the breakneck book-a-month pace that a reader of Stacey's intellectual alacrity could set.  I'd prefer to continue meeting Tuesdays, but preferrably bi-monthly.   That would put our next meeting at 28 Feb 2012.

As for books, I've a couple I think would be interesting, and I've had suggestions from others.  Please review the books I've tentatively selected below.  Let me know your individual preferences, and, depending on popular sentiment, I'll shift the order or add other books.  Please let me know.  For those interested, I've found that the occasional post-discussion tipple at Doyle's is a pleasant end to the evening.  Anyone who'd like to join me is always welcome.

Tally ho!

PS, I've updated the book list, which had initially reflected my unavailable choices.  jps

Feb: Natterson-Horowitz, Zoobiquity

April: Ozeki, My year of meats

June:  Mueller, Extra Virginity

Aug: Stein, Art of Racing in the Rain

Oct: ?

Good for you! Sorry for the confusion about titles. I clearly had a brain spasm when I was trying to type in the new books...

Hey! I just like to make sure I can get the books at the library!

Thanks Denise. The book is Extra Virginity: The Sublime and Scandalous World of Olive Oil, byTom Mueller. It's on Amazon, and I know Sweet Pea at King's Books will be ordering it shortly for the June meeting.
Incidentally, reading this far ahead is prohibited by the SS Vegan group's by-laws. (Joke! Read away!).

I know this is looking several months ahead, but I can't find the June book by an author named Mueller. I found one by Garth Stein. Help please!
