America's Got Talent

TICKETS WILL GO FAST!  CLICK ON THE FOLLOWING LINK ASAP AND THEN CLICK ON "GET TICKETS" FOR 12:00 ON APRIL 25.  PLEASE REQUEST A TICKET FOR 4 PEOPLE (CHANGE THE QUANTITY) TO HELP THOSE WHO MIGHT SIGN UP AFTER THEY ARE GONE:

http://on-camera-audiences.com/shows/Americas_Got_Talent

SECURE YOUR TICKETS IF POSSIBLE) BEFORE YOU RSVP AND INCLUDE A COMMENT ON YOUR RSVP STATING THE QUANTITY ON YOUR TICKET.  I WILL KEEP THIS SECTION UPDATED, SO WE KNOW HOW MANY ADDITIONAL PEOPLE CAN ATTEND.

America's Got Talent may be live from York, but we can still see the Los Angeles auditions taped here at the Pantages Theater!  A bunch of us went last year and it is loads of fun.

Arrival time is noon, but it wouldn't hurt to get there early (even 11:00) in order to secure a place in line and get good seats for a view of all the action.

Nick Cannon hosts, and the audience is very much a part of the action.  This year, Heidi Klum and Mel B. join Howie Mandel and Howard Stern on the judging panel.  Who knows what is in store for the new season when it comes to America's best grass-roots?

Since the taping will be at the Pantages, I think the best option will be to take the Metro in.  There is a train station very close to the theater.  Further details will be posted.  I'm sure those with experience riding the trains will help us out by posting comments.

Hi ...decided to take Downtown Riverside line @ 8:15.. going with my friend Deb. If anyone else takes this line let us know... We can travel together...

    April 24, 2013

    • Ron C.

Ok, It is almost walking distance from here!

      April 25, 2013

  • Lonnie

If you're a ticket holder, don't forget to bring it And everyone, be sure and have photo ID with you. Try to leave cameras and phones in your car as they won't be allowed in the theater. If you're taking the train with no car to leave things in, you'll have to check them at security and then wait in line to claim them after the show.

Looks like I'll go ahead and take the train too since no one has said they need carpooling from Corona.

    April 24, 2013

I have room for 2 more in my van if anyone would like to carpool to the Pantages for Americas Got Talent

After talking to Lonnie about taping times, Here are the 2 options I'm considering.
    1. Riverside line.
    Leave Downtown Riverside @ 8:15 arrive LA @ 9 :38
Then take redline. Cost $12.50 for senior/disabled round trip ticket
    OR
    2. San Bernardino line.
Leave Rancho Cucamonga @ 8:34 arrive LA @ 9:45 or
    Leave San Bernardino @ 8:15 arriveLA @ 9:45
Then take the redline. Cost $10.50 for senior/disabled round trip ticket from Rancho. Things to consider:
Riverside line: The last train out of Los Angeles leaves at 5:45. We may not have time to grab a bite if anyone is hungry. May even have to leave taping early to get back in time to catch metro at Union Station. But we will be the first stop to board so we know we can all sit together. Better location for everyone to get to. San Bernardino line: Many more departure times. The train leaves Union Station every 20 to 25 minutes until 5:45. Then it leave at 6:20, 7:20 and even later.
WHICH ONE WOULD YOU LIKE TO TAKE? PLEASE COMMENT.

Please post a comment here if you're planning to carpool from the Corona Park N Ride, and whether you're a driver, rider, or either/or.

We can leave out of Corona at 6:45 and arrive in LA at 8:05. There is a long transfer at Orange but there is a Ruby's there tho get a cup of coffee or breakfast...we would arrive in LA eary enough to get a snack. My time at the library is up so I don't know exactly what time the train arrives at Pantages. How did we live without computers?

  • Tammy

    sorry

    April 21, 2013

  • Lonnie

Okay, it seems everyone wants to have their plans all set more than a few days in advance... FYI on trains, Corona would probably be closer for most of us than the San Bernardino line, but the last morning train puts you there more than 2 hours early. Fine if you're going for the backstage interviews though. The SB line has later trains and is a bit cheaper, but farther to get to the station. So choose your poison ;-)

    April 21, 2013

  • Patti D.

I have four tickets, and now I can't go as I have to actually *work* on that day. Any takers ?

    March 29, 2013

Just noticed this post, but your tickets can't be used unless you go they check ID of the person whose name is on the ticket. Sorry you can't make it.

      April 21, 2013

  • Jill

From downtown Riverside to Union Station it's $25 roundtrip. I would be willing to carpool if anyone is interested. I can drive and have room for 7, probably be about $10 including parking depending on how many we have.

    March 20, 2013

    • Jill

Hi Chris, yes you can ride, you got the last spot!

      March 22, 2013

    • Susan D.

Jill, I'm not going to be able to go to this. Thanks so much for offering to drive. I only have 1 ticket that I got for myself.

      April 21, 2013

  • Lonnie

Did anyone else get tickets for the backstage interviews with priority admission? Does anyone else want to do this? It would mean arriving by 9:-00.

    April 21, 2013

  • Liz

We are going on a weekday so there is a larger choice of trains. But costs more. If we leave earlier we can have breakfast in LA. Both the 91 and the Riverside - Orange Co lines go through Corona but there is no transfer on the 91 line. My cell is[masked]

    April 21, 2013

  • Liz

Check the Metrolink schedule 700 (91)It returns to Corona later so there would be no worry of getting stuck in LA. As I am using my phone for internet I don't get a good schedule for Metrolink. Use your computer and get the schedule from the Metrolink site. I will take a train from Main Corona station

    1 · April 20, 2013

  • Liz

The last train out of LA into Corona is 5:2PM.....if we are getting out of the Pantages early enough to catch the 5:25 out of LA Union Station then the Corona station is fine. I have taken it and there is a transfer at the Orange. City station. My wifi is down so I will get you better info later .l did bring a different train home once and the conductor didn't care....l used the Metro BUS not the Red line train that goes right to the theater, therefore I was late .

I have taken the train many times and it's not complicated. It's easy and fun. You don't have to worry about parking. ALSO THERE ARE BATHROOMS ON THE TRAIN. There is no bathroom on the redline. But the redline is only a 20 minute trip.

PLEASE GET TO THE STATION AT LEAST 15 MINUTES EARLY TO GET YOUR TICKET!!

PLEASE SEE SCHEDULE INFO BELOW FOR METRO AND REDLINE.

One other reminder here for now though - please verify your RSVP in case your plans have changed, ESPECIALLY if you are a ticket holder and we are planning on others getting in with you. We have plenty of tickets, but if a ticket holder is a no-show, it affects other people!

    April 19, 2013

  • Lonnie

NOTE: I will be sending out an e-mail either Sunday night or Monday providing everyone with all the details necessary, since those getting in on someone else's ticket don't have the printed info. I will also include carpool locations and meeting times, as well as train schedules for those interested. So watch you e-mail for that! (I'll also post a comment here so you know when it has been sent out).

    April 19, 2013

  • Lonnie

Yes, the arrival time was moved up a half hour from 11:30 to 11:00. I strongly suggest getting there even a half hour to an hour earlier than that, just to get a good place in line. We can certainly socialize out on the sidewalk. Just plan on using a rest room if necessary before you get there LOL. There will be a point after they come out and check tickets when we won't be able to save places in line for later arrivals, and there's no telling when they will do that. You have to be present then, or else go to the back of the line.

It is time to make final plans, Metro-link is $24.00 for those of us under 65 and $12.00 for 65 & older. I can drive or ride, but think the train would add to the experience and avoid the hassle of Down Town LA Traffic and Parking.

Lonnie, I checked the link and there were no more tix available for 12:00. Is my RSVP still good?

As I commented earlier, I can switch my X-terra for my son's Suburban for the day and take 7 people, or use the X-terra and take 5. However, I do need to know soon, as my son is embarking on an extended series of in-services in Ocean Side and would take the bigger vehicle there as he would be staying at the location for 4 days at a time.

Regular metro link will be about $20. round trip. Easy transfer to the redline. The redline goes right to the pantages!! Have taken it there before. Senior rate 65+ is about $10 roundtrip. This is on the San Bernardino line.

    2 · March 20, 2013

    • Liz

I was looking to see what lines meet at Union Station to connect with the Red Line. Everybody may not want to take that route if they don't have to. SB is easier than the 91 or the other Riverside Metrolink but it may be out of the way for some people...haven't looked at returning links yet.

      March 20, 2013

    • Liz

I would prefer to rideshare if any one is stopping at the Corona Park and Ride. I am disabled, says SS,I can't drive so if I don' t carpool I would take the train out of Corona or Riverside

      March 23, 2013

  • Connie M.

A friend of mine wants to go, so that will take 2 of my 4 tickets. For those who still prefer, I think Metrolink will just make it more of an adventure? You still have to pay for gas etc?

    March 21, 2013

About tickets... it's not necessary for anyone to be assigned to any particular tickets. We will just pool them all to be sure we have enough for the whole group. Looks like there are plenty, unless too many people with tickets cancel... also, I will post information about meeting about a week before the event.

  • Lonnie

If you plan to drive, please comment how many riders you can take and keep track of who you agree to take. It gets complicated as the organizer to coordinate who is going with whom, and being sure we are all covered ticket-wise. I'll handle it though, just keep me infotmed :-)

    March 21, 2013

  • Ron C.

Not facing LA freeways at rush hour is worth a lot, however, I can switch SUV's with my son and drive a Suburban for the day if need be, and take seven people. Though the middle seat in the back row is more suitable to the petite. Tickets are free, so perhaps the $25.00 train is not unreasonable - but taking big vehicles at $10.00 or so each is fine with me.
