Sure there are plenty of other meetup groups. Some have specific special interests, some are very broad and cover areas as large as all of Southern California. Even the "Inland Empire" extends from east LA to Palm Springs! Some people are organizers for multiple groups and plaster the same events across all of them.

This group ("The Triangle") will concentrate on people in the area around the 15, 91, and 215 freeways - from Corona to Riverside/Moreno Valley, down to Murrieta and Temecula. You don't have to live within these boundaries, but that will be our general focus. And I pledge to make this group unique.  No cross-posting or promoting our events all over the southland.  Activities will be varied - Hiking, dancing, shows/concerts, house parties, day trips to longer excursions, and anything else people are interested in doing.  We won't be promoting other groups' events except in rare, special cases.

Our events may take place anywhere, but by focusing on the people in our geographical area we can foster true friendships and facilitate ride sharing to events that aren't local.  You may be new to Meetups, or you may already be in a number of other groups.  Either way, we hope you will tell your friends about us, and make this a group we will all be proud of.
