Its free to play if you're not in the tournament provided there's an opponent. If there's an odd number of players in the tournament, you can play the one who sits out each round. You can always get a game at the end of the tourney which ends at 4:30 as some players always stay after for more chess.

How much does it costs to join the tourney? Usually every Saturday I play basketball from 4-6pm. This Saturday I have lunch with a friend, maybe I can join you guys next Saturday. And what skill level is it, just curious.

Hi, I'll try to join from 2-3pm. Is it free to join? I'd just like to play some practice games. I haven't played in a while to play in tournament. Also, should I bring a chessboard, I'm not sure if I can find my old chessboard.
Oops, Hugh didn't win prize money, but he seemed happy enough!
