Free Yoga Class

I saw this in the newspaper and wanted to give it a go. Thought you guys might be interested. Space is limited and you should email or call to reserve a spot prior to coming. However, if space prevails the day of the class, they will accept walkins.

RSVP'ing on this site DOES NOT guarantee you a spot.

SATURDAY SPECIALTY CLASSES:

Due to limited studio space it is suggested you email (from the website) or call[masked] to reserve a space in the Saturday Specialty classes and avoid disappointment.

FREE COMMUNITY CLASS: Raleigh Yoga Center offers a FREE class to the community as our way of giving back and saying thanks. This 90 minute class will be held at 11:00 am on the 2nd Saturday of each month. This is an ALL LEVELS class but is not appropriate for those with health concerns. Instructors vary.

I'm not sure if anyone else was there, as this was my first meetup. The studio was a little hidden (very tiny sign). I enjoyed the class; the instructor and other students were very friendly. Note: This was not a typical yoga class. The instructor went very slowly, gave lots of explanations and we did not do a normal series of poses. It was very introductory, which I thought was considerate as there were several beginners in the class. I had a good time, but I would probably opt for something a little more active next time since I'm not a beginner. The instructor (I think her name was Elka?) mentioned that there are also free classes at Fletcher Park on Saturdays at 9am.

Tiffany you should go back. The instructors rotate for this class. So it will be months before you have the same instructor again. Also, some of them.....are NOT so easy. I have been there and felt like I needed to be "warned". LOL

Thanks for the info, Cali! Maybe I'll try again in June.

Hi ladies, glad to see that you guys were able to attend the event. I am not always able to attend, but I keep it posted more less so that I don't keep anyone else from going (plus its free). I usually post a note to let everybody know if I am coming or not. Feel free to reach out to others prior to attending. The class is pretty small, so I normally would just ask if anyone is from TUT before class starts.

I enjoyed the class the instructor was very patient with the newbies. She was very patient and explained everything in advance. The setting was very comfortable I look forward to attending again.

This isn't the first time I've heard of that problem with a meetup.com group. I think that it would be good for meetup folks to link up a little before and after an event to just touch base, get a little face time. I joined these groups to build a local social circle. I can't do that if I don't actually speak to anyone at the meet up.

Right. To be fair, I guess I could've asked around instead of being shy, lol. But I'm new! Maybe next time I'll comment ahead of time to try to connect with someone.

I got all the way to Oberlin Rd. and couldn't find the building. I'm sure I completely spazzed out on this one. Gonna have my sis drive me the next time. Sorry...
