The Valley Boys is a social group for gay men in the Merrimack Valley, and Southern New Hampshire area. The philosophy of the group is to create a judgment-free atmosphere, where people respect one another and where everyday guys can share good times.
Our events are wide-ranging, from bowling to house parties, movie nights to day trips. Our members range in age from mid-20s to late-60's. We typically have on average 30-50 active members at any given time.
The group is structured so that it's really the individual members that contribute to the events that are planned for the group in addition to the events that the Leaderhsip Team plans. We welcome new event ideas and regularly revisit past events that have been popular with members. We only ask that members try to be respectful of one another and avoid double-booking/over-booking events on a given day.
The Leadership Team, which consist of our Organizer and Assistant Organizers are available to discuss any questions or concerns members may have regarding the group, events, or other areas. Our primary objective is to make sure our members have fun and that all members feel comfortable at the events we plan. With this objective in mind, we try to respect members' privacy by keeping personal information for our members, such as contact information protected and make sure that members who are gracious enough to hosts events in their home feel comfortable with the members attending their event.
Individuals looking to join the group will receive an email from the Organizer with pertinent information about the group and will be asked to respond to that email confirming that they are in agreement with everything before their membership is approved.
Outside of having fun, our only real requirements for our members are to follow our 3 Golden Rules:
1. New members should make every effort to attend one of our Monthly Member Mixers within the first 3 months of joining. This is a great way to meet existing members in a casual setting.
2. Members who want to attend an event at another member's home who they have not yet met need to attend the Member Mixer prior to the event in order to meet the Host and other Leadership Team members.
3. Members who RSVP to an event but ultimately cannot attend the event or will be late, let the event host know so that members are not waiting unnecessarily at venues events are being held at.
