Reboot! Barbecue + Pot Luck

  • Village Gamer Headquarters

After a short break, we are back in action with the Fraser Valley Game Devs meetup! We will be booting things back up with an outdoor barbecue at Village Gamer headquarters.

We're looking to make this a family friendly event, so you are encouraged to have other family members tag along! So, if you have kids, spouse, or significant other, feel free to bring them out! ( Just no pets or crazy uncles. Thanks! ) When you RSVP, please remember to select the number of guests you are bringing.

Burgers will be the main course for the barbecue, but we'd like to encourage Pot Luck participation – chips, salad, soda, dessert items or anything else that you would like to contribute to the event is welcome. Be sure to list items when you RSVP or reply later with what you are bringing.

We will be meeting in a covered patio, which in the case of rain, will keep everyone dry. The patio is around the back of the house, accessed along the walkway between the main house and the attached garage. There will be a few chairs available on site, but if you could, please bring a lawn chair to ensure you have a seat.

So, come on out and enjoy some burgers and great conversations. We look forward to seeing you there!

Location:

920 – 272 Street, Aldergrove V4W 2P8

The destination is a blue rancher, about 150 yards north on 272 Street and 8th Avenue on east side of road. Location will be marked by sign and balloons.

Extra Notes:

  • Casual topic for event will be: “Designing games for family and community”

  • For liability issues, this will be an alcohol-free event.

I had a good time - lots of laughs (poor Matt! lol) and as always the general conversation was varied and enjoyable. The food was great, too!

Yep, already warned the wife to make sure that day is open for all of us, if not all of us, for sure I'll make my way over.

I'll be bringing some of my wife's legendary cupcakes with the most awesome cream cheese/whip cream icing.

Alright, sounds good to me. I'll make sure to bring something else.

Sorry Mat, but due to liability (driving and such, as we are not on a bus route), this will be an alcohol-free BBQ.

Is alcohol allowed? I was planning to bring a peace offering of beer, but I don't want to bring any alcohol if that's not cool.
