What we’re about

Inspired by Sam's time with the Oxford Drunken Knitwits, this Cambridge chapter is a fun, relaxed space for knitters and crocheters to meet like-minded people. We come together in local pubs to show the world that creating things from yarn is not just for grannies (although it's well known that only the coolest grannies knit). Come along with your knitting or other similar craft, and meet friendly people, get tipsy (or not), and learn a few things along the way.
Membership is free for the first three meetups, then it's just £20 for the year. We meet from 6pm Thursdays, but you don't have to be on time, and you don't have to come every week, just come as much as you like.
We are an active group and like to keep things fresh, so if you join and don't come for six months, we will remove you from the group. But you are welcome to rejoin again when you are able to come along.
By requesting to join our group you are agreeing to follow the CDK values:
Don't take yourself too seriously: If you can't laugh at yourself, what can you do?
Do unto others: We aim to provide a friendly and welcoming environment to anyone who wishes to join. If you’re a true Knitwit, you’ll treat your fellows with the degree of kindness, respect and tolerance with which you would wish to be treated.
Hang around: We pride ourselves in being an active and committed group, where we can find familiar faces week after week. So come along, and stay for a while – most Knitwits do.
