A Butcher of Distinction by Rob Hayes.

Presented by We Do Not Unhappen

"He was our father, we were his sons. It was a mutual arrangement we had." - Fresh from a rural tragedy, two orphaned brothers stumble into the unfamiliar terrain of the city. All they know is that their father kept secrets in a basement beneath a pub and it is here, perhaps, that they'll find a replacement for their lost family fortunes. What they meet instead is a distraught stranger with a terrible way of coping with grief.

Director James Dalton (2012's The Criminals by José Triana) returns to the Old 505 Theatre with this brutal, dark comedy by award-winning British playwright, Rob Hayes.

( Here's Rob Hayes talking about another one of his plays )

A disturbing, yet brilliant example of new writing in London’ – Fringe Review
Hayes evokes Renaissance writers like Middleton and Ford in the more gruesome touches... it is brilliant’ – The Public Reviews
A beautifully complex, layered and twisted comedy’ – The Good Review

MEETING FOR DINNER: I will be having a cheap meal at a nearby Thai restaurant. Meet next to the entrance of the building at 342 Elizabeth St at 6.30pm. Unfortunately i won't be able to join you at this show as something else has come up, but i will at the very least join you for the pre-show meal and show you the location of the theatre. I will have to leave at 7.15pm. The show starts at 8pm

Really interesting venue. The play was macabre and funny, very well acted, delightfully different. Good on Allison for giving up her ticket, hope you get to see it another time.
