Send as many people to the 2013 WSOP as possible. We will give out a combination of $1500 and $1000 buy in seats t the 2011 WSOP. (more $1000 seats than $1500 seats)

Goal is to generate $14,000 for WSOP seats and award 3- $1500 seats and 7 - $1000 seats plus an extra $200 for for each winner towards expenses.

In 2011 and 2012  this series raised over $14,500 and we sent 11 people to the WSOP !!!!!

I will hold at least 10 tournaments ($80 buyin each)with the top 2-4 people winning the seat to the final May WSOP seat tournament (May 2013)

I will (usually) schedule the first Saturday of each month from Aug - May

General idea and concept
This series will be designed so you are encouraged to play in as few, or as many tournaments as you desire without it being much (if any) of a disadvantage to play in less than someone else. There are rules put in place to both encourage repeat play and encourage playing just a few or even only one of these.

With 50% of the $80 entry being paid out to the tournament winers - you could be free-rolling the final May tournament with one or 2 cashes throughout the year.

Final May Tournament details (the big game that we will have to award the WSOP seats)

This game will hopefully be a free roll. If all entries agree to put up a small entry $ to make up enough $ for an extra WSOP seat to be awarded that day that can be done.

If you win your seat to the final May tournament you start with 10,000 chips
You can also win extra chips to bring to the final tournament by coming in 1st or 2nd in any of the 10 $80 buy in qualifying tournaments.

What is the advantage of playing in many - if not all of these ?

1.Once you have qualified for the final May 2013 WSOP seat tournament, you can enter additional qualifying tournaments at a reduced entry of only $50 !

2. If you win additional qualifying tournaments throughout the year you can earn extra starting chips* for the final game in May 2011.

3. If you win 1st place in THREE qualifying tournaments throughout the series of 10 - you INSTANTLY are guaranteed at least a $1000 WSOP seat !!!!!

(The only exception to this rule is that there must be at least 3 WSOP seats up for grabs for the final May 2011 WSOP seat tournament. I am sure there will be. I think we will generate enough $ for at least 8 WSOP seats !) If we are only playing for 1 or 2 WSOP seats in our final May tournament there will be no automatic seats awarded for 3 season wins.

(*added after original write up) * If we exceed my goal of 5 seats for the WSOP it would become possible for 1 person to win more than one WSOP seat. They would have to win 3 tournaments throughout the year (automatic $1000 WSOP seat) and also win a seat in the FINAL EVENT tournament in May 2013.
The exception to this rule is there must be at least 5 seats up for grabs in the final tournament. If we only have 5 or fewer seats generated by the 10 tournaments it would not be possible for someone to win 2 WSOP seats.
In the highly unlikely scenario where 2 or 3 people win 3 qualifying tournaments (out of the 10) each one wins the $1000 seat in order that they achieved 3 wins - additional $1000 seats will only be won if we still hve 5 or more WSOP seats up for grabs in the May FINAL EVENT.

If someone wins the automatic WSOP seat with 3 season wins - they MUST play the final May game to try to upgrade to $1500 WSOP seat. That person would not have to pay any entry to the final tournament (if there even is any small entry $ agreed upon) unless that person is eligible to play for a 2nd WSOP seat - then they would have to pay the entry (if there was one) to the FINAL EVENT.

MAY FINAL TABLE bonus chips.

This was amended slightly - Now the bonus chips are as follows.
In each qualifying event:
All of the MAY FINAL seat winners in the 10 qualifying events win bonus chips except for the lowest placing qualifier. (So, is 3 people qualify, 2 win bonus chips, if 4 people qualify, 3 win bonus chips.
as follows....
1st - 1000 bonus chips (added to the 10,000 MAY FINAL starting stack)
2nd - 750 bonus chips (added to the 10,000 MAY FINAL starting stack)
3rd - 500 bonus chips (added to the 10,000 MAY FINAL starting stack)
4th - 250 bonus chips (added to the 10,000 MAY FINAL starting stack)
So for a reduced buy in of $60 and 50% of all entry $ being paid out that day, the chance to add to your Final Event starting stack, and a chance to win 3 qualifying events to automatically win your 2013 WSOP seat anyone should want to play in as many of these as possible.

Why would someone want to play if they think they can only make a few or even one of these 10 qualifying events ?

-Unlike a tournament series that rewards overall performance, you can win your seat to the May FINAL tournament in 1 cash in this series.

-I think we can generate enough $ for at least 5 WSOP seats. So, if you sneak in and qualify barely in one event (doesn't matter if its early or late in the season) - you are guaranteed a seat at the Final Event with 10,000 starting chips. You still have an excellent chance of running/ playing good and winning a WSOP seat in our Final event.

-If you end up making only one or two of these and you win a seat - you are probably free rolling for a WSOP seat and have invested less than someone who played a lot to get to the Final Event in May.

Profit sharing
Here is how I handle the profit sharing. The WSOP is exciting. If someone wins big we want to spread the wealth just a little.

If you win a seat in this WSOP Final Event, you will only keep 80% of your WSOP profit (this is not a bad thing ! - read on.)
Profit is any $ above the buy in. If you cash at the WSOP, You get 100% of the buy in $ back first and then -

20% goes to the other top 5 (or more) finishers - the other seat winners in our Final event split equally.

-Don't look at this like one of those Sats where you are giving up 20% of your profits. You are getting a good chunk of 8 or 9 other really talented players in the WSOP (probably about 2% each). It will be very exciting if ANY of the WSOP seat winners go deep in an event !

-If I am not a seat winner in the series, I will still be allowed to buy in to the WSOP in 2013 and be included in the profit share with the other seat winners. I will be organizing and keeping track of all the events everyone will be playing and be in Vegas around that time so I will make this rule to keep me invested in everyones profit share.

Congratulations if you have got this far in reading this description ! Did you get all that so far ?
good.

I think this series will get more popular the further along it gets. We will have a running total of WSOP seat $ generated which should stimulate the buzz

-Can you play in the $80 buy in tournament without playing for a WSOP seat ?

Yes. Actually. You can buy in for $50 and play for all the same day prize $. You would not be eligible for a seat at the May Final Event if you win the $80 tournament. Another player in the $80 would end up with the seat as a result.

If I come up with any other questions or important points I will ad them here.

If this seems cool to you - please play early in the season - as soon as we start advertising we have 2K - 3K raised already - more people will play I think. We lay out $40-$80 per tournament anyway - lets raise some $ for WSOP seats !

Thanks,

Todd U.

Just posted this at Rounders, but probably should have posted here (I'll delete at Rounders if I can):
6,000 chips really isn't enough. How about 10,000? Like at the QFTB tourney yesterday? Also, the 35 minute rounds yesterday were decent... anything less for a home game, when most of these hands take longer due to more cards and pot calculations, is too brutal...

OK -decided - 8000 chips and structure posted - I was told this will be about 8-10 hours with breaks-wouldn't want much longer than that.

Cool. But I will wager money that with 16 - 18 players, it won't go 10 hours. Maybe 8, but I kinda doubt it.

looks like it probably will end up at 8000 chips.

Just my suggestions. If we had a structure similar to yesterday, I'd play.
