Thanks Bill for hosting this one!

We will be seeing 'The Budapest Hotel' on Friday, March 21th @ the Main Art Theater in Royal Oak. A must see for all Wes Anderson fans!

MEETING SPOT: Please meet in the Theater's Red Lounge area 15 to 30 minutes prior to showtime.

Showtime: 7:15pm

We highly recommend coming EXTRA early to allow time for parking and to purchase your ticket in advance online here. This show may sell out.

Plot: Set in alternate-history 1920s Europe in a country called the Republic of Zubrowka, a famed hotel concierge by the name of Gustave H. is bequeathed a painting called

Boy with Apple after his one night stand, Madame D, is killed. Madame D's son, Dmitri, vows revenge on Gustave by framing him for Madame D's murder. Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy, and his love interest, Agatha, help Gustave hide Boy with Apple from Dmitri and the authorities.

This is a joint meetup with our sister club - The Royal Oak Movie Group.

Reminder: If you're running late or your plans should changed - please leave a comment or update your RSVP. No one wants to wait around for people who are never going to show up. Thank you!

This Wes Anderson film did not disappoint! Great scenes. Great subdued special effects, great acting, and great little twists on reality. Also, in this movie was true to other Wes movies, in that the characters change 180 degrees by the end of the movie. Zero starts off a refugee without a job and without a family. And in the end he is rich and successful and the hotel is his family.

I'm afraid I'll have to sit this one out unfortunately. Just as I've been recovering from bronchitis, allergy season has kicked in. I think I need to stay home and tend to my allergies. I'll see you guys hopefully next weekend!

Put me down as a "Maybe." I'd really like to see this movie, but it will depend on how much work I need to do tomorrow night for school.

  • Kendra

Important - please note this movie is being shown at the Main Art Theatre located in Royal Oak. Didn't want people heading out to the wrong theater on Friday.

Is there a section reserved for our group?

    March 19

    • Kendra

That type of accommodations only happens at The Maple. As long as members arrive during the meetup time, you'll all be able to head into the theater at the same time and be seated together as a group. Meetup time is between 6:45pm - 7:05pm. Showtime is 7:15pm. I hope this helps - Enjoy the show!

      March 18

  • Bill
