A House in West LA
(Photos from Wikipedia and Ohara ryu 小原流 sites）
The address has been sent to the paid attendees.
Our member DC Palter introduced me to his wife, Ms. Satsuki Palter, the 1st master Ohara ryu (school) instructor about a year and a half ago, and I'm delighted to schedule a meetup for my group to take a lesson from her finally!
Japanese flower arrangement called Ikebana 生け花 or Kado 華道 has long history:
Satsuki sensei has been doing Ikebana for 28 years and she holds the 1st Master certificate, which is very hard to obtain. She's the president of Ohara Los Angeles Ikebana Society and the Treasurer of North American Ohara Teachers Association, formerly the president of Ikebana International Los Angeles chapter. She has done numerous demonstrations and exhibitions as well as workshops at many places.
Last year she coordinated a class to teach how to make Japanese sweets called Higashi with a lecturer/manufacturer of traditional wooden molds that go back a thousand years.
The class is held every Monday evening at 6:30pm at her house in West LA. The class fee is $15 for the first time and $20 per class thereafter, which includes $6 fee for the flower materials. The fee is to be paid monthly if you choose to keep taking the class. This meetup is just an introductory class for you, a great opportunity to have a little glimpse of the world of Ikebana.
Any level is welcome and her address and the detailed information will be sent to the attendees who's made the payment of $16 per Paypal.
Hope you can come to have a special experience,
