    Hi everyone,

Just last month I came to know about this series called "Mahou Shoujyo Madoka☆Magika" and the story got me really intrigued.  Since one of my childhood favorites among 間ny TV animation shows was "Mahou-Tsukai Sally" I'm curious to learn more about this in so called "Mahou Shoujyo" genre. (literally translated as "girls with magical power").

    http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E9%AD%94%E6%B3%95%E4%BD%BF%E3%81%84%E3%82%B5%E3%83%AA%E3%83%BC

When I adapted my American name Sally at my naturalization about 15 years ago (just a coincidence, not from the comic I swear to God lol ), all my Japanese friends chuckled saying  "Oh, so you really became Mahoutsukai Sally-chan! haha"....  Yes, the TV series was so popular among children at the time, for the people my age, the name Sally is almost equivalent of "Mahou tsukai" (witch).  I loved all the characters - Sally-chan of course, a cute, charming girl witch from outer space, her parents, brother, friends Yoshiko-chan, Sumire-chan and little brothers, etc. The story still brings smile to me and evokes strong sense of nostalgia, so when I learned about this newer comic and TV series and movies of "Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magika", I got really excited.  Now I'm looking forward to learning more about the stories and also about the third movie scheduled to be released in Japan on Oct 26, 2013.  This is a short preview of the movie.

The meetup is going to be a fun learning opportunity for me as well.  If you like this story and know what the best way is to start viewing and reading the past episodes, please let me know. Thanks.

I'll teach you vocabulary and hopefully we can watch some clips together to practice listening to Japanese.  Wouldn't it be nice if you can understand everything they say in the movie in Japanese?  I'd like to help.

The venue is at Kelly's coffee inside of Beverly Hills library and we'll sit at an outside table facing Rexford Dr.
