RERUN: Dishny (Indian)

  • January 9, 2013 · 7:30 PM

We've been to this Indian restaurant before, I've been asked to 'rerun' this location again.

Here's how the previous organizer, Theresa, described this restaurant:

"This is Paris' institution for South Indian food and on my recent test trip, the lassi was creamy and flavourful, the masala dosai full of refinement under its flame of spices, the thali an array of rarely-seen vegetables, the rice bright and fragrant. The other tables seemed to be having a good time too."

It's not terribly expensive either.  We'll share plates (including vegetarian options), we'll eat lots, and you can expect to pay about 20 euros plus wine.

If you'd like to come, please add yourself to the waiting list.  Please note that the waiting list is not "first-come first-served." Instead I select guests, so that we have the perfect mix of regulars and new members.

All best,
Shelley

Excellent. I felt my stomach burning on the way home, but it was a good burn :)

Dolores & Dani, as requested by you here is the website that I have put together - you'll find reviews for the Indian restaurants that we talked about:

I have been here I think 3 times, it is tres pas cher (u can eat well for less than 20Eu including wine) and very authentic. It is near the Theatre Bouffes du Nord whose member of staff recommended it as a 'good' authentic Indian restaurant nearby.

Dolores, all new members leave a deposit for their first meetup. I hope i explained it well in the email i sent you :) We have a very large list with over 840 members, and our events have limited spots often with very long waiting lists. Deposits ensure that people show up. We make the request of all new members. Hope we get to meet you soon, all best, Shelley
