Had enough of astrologers, psychics, homeopaths, and spirit channelers? Yearning to talk with someone rational for awhile? Meetup with other local skeptics for some refreshing and sane conversation.
The sort of thinking we support includes: Using evidence based reasoning for determining what to believe. Forming beliefs after the evidence is collected. Seeking evidence to both falsify and support a claim. Seeking alternative explanations for a phenomenon. Holding beliefs supported by the best available explanation. Seeking extraordinary evidence for extraordinary claims. Not relying on anecdotal evidence. Using tightly controlled experiments to support claims. Employing critical thinking and skepticism.
As can be seen, this is diametrically opposite to pseudo-science.
